From the Principal's Desk
Dear Students,
We, the family of Prabodhan Education Societys Vidya Prabodhini College of
Commerce, Education, Computer and Management, Parvari-Goa, are pleased
to welcome you to be a part of Prabodhan Parivar. The Management of this
college is highly experienced and knowledgeable in the field of higher education and
has a long-term vision to provide a quality education to students. The management
makes a consistent efforts in enhancing a quality of higher education towards meeting
the expectations of Nation, Society and Industry. The college offers a three year B.Com
and a four year integrated B.A.B.Ed programmes and has achieved an excellent results in
the Final Year Goa University Examinations held in April / May, 2019. The college takes
the privilege of being the first college to start a Four Year Integrated B.A.B.Ed programme from the Academic Year 2015-16
and the first batch of B.A.B.Ed has passed out in June, 2019 with 44 distinctions and 25 First Classes. The overall percentage
of result is 97%. We are proud to mention that more than 48 students have joined Goa University for their higher studies in
different disciplines like M.A. in Hindi, Marathi, English, Konkani, History and Geography. More than 14 students have joined
as teachers in different schools in Goa.
The college, in a short period of 7 years of its existence, has achieved NAAC Assessment Accreditation, Permanent Affiliation to Goa University for both the programmes and recognized under 2(f) and 12 (B) of the UGC Act 1956. The college has upgraded its classrooms with latest technological aids to facilitate an effective teaching-learning. The library makes a continuous efforts to meet the rising needs of learning resources of students and faculty members with internet access. The students have exhibited their talents and skills in sports and cultural activities. The students have made a remarkable achievement at International, National and State level in different games and events. Mr. Kamlakar Gawade from T.Y.B.A.B.Ed won third place at the International State Tennis Ball Championship, held at Pokhra, Nepal. Ms. Chaitali Gawas and Ms. Divya Sangodkar from F.Y.B.A.B.Ed won Gold medals in 400 meter hurdles at Khelo India Youth Games and at West Zone Inter-University Football Championship held at Rajasthan and Mumbai respectively. Ms. Alfiya Khalil Bepari and Ms. Mala Devappa Banjar Naik have participatd in the NSS Pre-Republic Day Parade camp held at Hemchanracharya North Gujrat University. Women and Men won Runners Up in Judo and Baseball respectively at the Inter-Collegiate Championship held at Goa University, Goa.
The college won 9 prizes viz. Best Director, Best Actor (both male and female categories), Best Set, Best Costumes, Best Makeup, Best Background Music, Best light and overall third place for One Act Play Competition organized by D.Ms College and Research Centre, Mapusa. We are happy to mention that our student Ms. Naisa Lotlikar from B.A.B.Ed. acted and sung two songs in a Konkani movie Benddkar. The college has organized a Blood Donation Camp through Red Ribbon Club and the total 49 students and faculty members have donated blood. The college has energetic and enthusiastic faculty members who work dedicatedly for all round development of the students. The faculty members are actively engaged in Doctoral Research and have published research paper in Scopus and UGC listed journals. They also have delivered invited lectures at different National and International Workshops / Seminars and have participated in Refresher/Orientation/Training programmes. The teaching faculty is fully supported and assisted by efficient administrative colleagues. The college has organized several workshops / seminars/short term courses/filed trips/ talks on life skills, prevention of drug abuse, road safety, solid waste management, constitutional duties, lecture series through Readers Club, gender sensitization, techniques in production of organic colours for holi through Nisarg Club and so on. The college has signed an MOU with V.M. Salgaoncar College of Law, Miramar, Panaji. The college has a Nursery with 2000 saplings and the same are being distributed to the community.
The total 1100 students have been pursuing their studies from the IGNOU Study Centre of this college. This College Continues to be the recognized exam Centre for Company Secretary Examination of ICSI, New Delhi SET examination of Pune University, Pune and exams of Directorate of Higher Education, Govt. of Goa. With your support and co-operation, we the family of Vidya Prabodhini College, assure you that we together will work for the progression and holistic development of students.
