  7. Girls Tug of War Team also secured Gold Medal at the  1st GOY Olympia Championship 2017, organized by Youths of Goa held at Peddem Sports Complex, Mapusa, Goa from 5th and 8th January, 2017. Krishan Kumar Kumawat bagged Bronze Medal in Judo at the same competition.
  8. College Girls Softball team participated for the Goa State Softball Championship 2017 held at Saude, Ground, Chodan on 29th January 2017. Team Reached Semis and were honoured with the Shield for the Best upcoming team.
  9. In Inter-collegiate Baseball Tournament, College Men Baseball Team showed continuity in performance by reaching in finals and ended up as Runners Up. Women Team lost in Semi-final.
  10. In Men Category, boys also participated in Table Tennis, Badminton, Chess, Cross Country, Weight Lifting, Football, Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Volleyball and Cricket and in Womens Category, Girls participated in Table Tennis, Badminton, Tennikoit, Kabaddi, Volleyball and Cricket competitions organized by Goa University at Inter-collegiate Level.

  1. The Department of Physical Education & Sports achieved a remarkable achievement at the Inter Collegiate Judo Competition organized by Goa University during the academic year 2015-2016. The competition was held at Silver Jubilee Indoor complex on 4th & 05th August 2015, wherein 13 Boys and 12 Girls represented the college.

In Men’s Category, Vidya Prabodhini College won Runners Up trophy securing 4 medals. Student of TYBCom A Mast. Rajasab Sutgund and student of SYBCom B Mast. Prajwal Shetty secured Gold Medal, and  TYBCom students Mast. Sanjit Naik and Mast. Shudham Bandodkar secured Bronze Medal in their respective categories. In Women Categories, College Judo Team secured 2nd Runners Up Place. Miss Bindiya Naik from BABEd B division secured Gold medal, Miss Sabiya Dukandar from SYBCom A & Miss Nilufer Jovali from  FYBCOM B secured Silver medal, and a SYBCom B student Miss Imtiza Sayyad and a TYBCom student Miss Sanjivini Kadam secured Bronze Medal in their respective categories.

The Judo team availed services of Mr. R. V. Shintre, Senior Judo Coach of Sports Authority of Goa.

  1. Our College Football team participated in the “Golden Jubilee Cup organized by S. S. Dempo College of Commerce & Economics on 30th of July 2015 held at Dhuler Football Stadium.
  2. Mast Prajwal Shetty of SYBCom B was selected as the Goa Athletic Team member for the Sr. National Athletic Championship held at Calicut on 5th September 2015
  3. At Inter Collegiate Taekwondo competition organized by Goa University on 29th September 2015, Vidya Prabodhini College Girls Team secured 3rd place in team championship. Miss Kavita Kataria and Miss Sukanti Gadekar, both from SYBCOM secured Gold & Silver medal respectively.
  4. Ramnath Gaonkar worked as an official at the Kendriya Vidyalaya National Rope Skipping Championship held at Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, from 07th October 2015 to 11th October 2015
  5. Mast Ramnath Gaonkar bagged 8 Medals at the 16th National Rope Skipping Championship 2015, organized by Rope Skipping Federation of Haryana held at Rohtak, Haryana on 17th November 2015. He secured 4 Gold medals one each in Speed – Sprint, Triple Under, Speed – Endurance and Speed Relay, 03 Silver Medals one each in Dubble Dutch Speed Relay, Dubble Dutch Pair Free Style & Team Demo, and a Bronze Medal in Dubble Dutch Single Free Style.
  6. Bindiya Shinde from FYBABEd B represented Goa State at the Cadet National Cadet & Junior Judo Championship – 2015-16 held at Vadodara, Gujrat from 19th to 23rd in November 2015.
  7. Pradosh Parmekar from SYBCOM B was the member of Goa Senior Judo Team at the Senior National Judo Championship 2015-2016 organized by Amateur Judo Association of Chandigarh in collaboration with Judo Federation of  India, held at Chandigarh  from 02nd to 05th December 2015.
  8. Prajwal shetty brought glory to the college not only by securing first Gold Medal for the college but also by breaking Goa University meet record in Athletics and by setting up a New Meet record in 400 M Men Running event. He secured a Gold in 200 M Men race as well. The event was held on 15th and 16th of December 2015 at SAG Athletic Stadium, Bambolim, Goa.
  1. Cherry on a cake, Mast. Prajwal Shetty represented Goa University for the second consecutive year at All India Inter-University Athletics Championship 2015-2016 held at Punjabi University, Patiala, Punjab from 27th to 31 December 2015.
  2. Ramnath S. Gaonkar worked as an Official at the 61st School Game National Championship – 2015 held on 30th December 2015 at Bhopal, organized by Rope Skipping Association, Madhya Pradesh.
  3. Mast Prajwal Shetty bagged 2 Gold Medals, one each in 100 Mtr and 200 Mtr Men running event at the 48th State Level Athletic Championship 2016, organized by Goa Athletic Association in Collaboration with The Sports Authority of Goa held at Peddem Sports Complex, Mapusa, Goa on 24th and 25th January, 2016.
  4. Trupti Salgaonkar from BABEd B participated and emerged as the Champions at the 5th Senior State level Throwball Championship 2016 held at Valpoi, Goa on 25th January 2016
  5. Kavita Kataria from SYBCOM A participated and emerged as the Champions at the Goa State Softball Championship 2016 held at Saude, Ground, Chodan on 21st February 2016. Miss. Neketa Phadte and Miss. Prajakta Halarnkar also participated in the said state level meet.
  6. Four Boys of our college participated in District Level Rope Skipping competition on 22th February 2016 at L. D. Samant High School campus, Porvorim organized by Goa Amateur Rope Skipping Association. Mast. Ramnath Shivaji Gaonkar from SYBCOM A secured individual Gold Medal in Speed Endurance event. Relay Team of the college comprising of Mr. Ramnath Gaonkar, Meghal Kauthankar, Imtiaz Mulla & Vishal Mistry also secured 2 Gold Medals one each in Team Speeed relay 4 X 30 Seconds event and Dubble Dutch Speed.

The same Rope Skipping Team also participated in State Level Rope Skipping Championship on 24th February 2016 at Dr. Hedgewar school, Bambolim, Goa, organized by Goa Amateur Rope Skipping Association. Mast. Ramnath Shivaji Gaonkar secured Individual Gold Medal in Speed Endurance event. Relay Team comprising of Mr. Ramnath Gaonkar, Meghal Kauthankar, Imtiaz Mulla & Vishal Mistry secured 2 Silver Medals one each in Speed Relay 30 Seconds and Dubble Dutch Speed event.  
  8. In Intercollegiate Baseball Tournament, Both Men and Women College Baseball Team showed remarkable growth in performance by reaching in finals in their respective categories during very third year of participation. In both the categories, the teams emerged as Runners Up.
  9. In Intercollegiate Cricket Tournament, Women Cricket Team of this college showed excellent performance by reaching in semi-finals of the women cricket. The Team defeated Dhempe college of Arts & Science, Miramar and MES College, Vasco in their preliminary rounds.
  10. In Men Category, boys also participated in Table Tennis, Chess, Badminton, Cross Country, Power Lifting, Football, Athletics, Volleyball and Cricket and in Womens Category, Girls participated in Badminton & Tennikoit competitions organized by Goa University at Intercollegiate Level.

  • The Department of Physical Education & Sports achieved success in Judo during the academic year 2014-15 at the Intercollegiate Competitions conducted by Goa Universit 11 Boys and 08 Girls participated in the “Inter-collegiate Judo Competition” organized by Goa University on 05th & 6th August 2014. College ended up securing five medals. In Boys Section, a SYBCOM B student Mr. Rajasab Sutgund and TYBCOM student Mr. Sushant Kudtalkar Naik Secured Silver Medal & a FYBCOM B student Mr. Pradosh Parmekar secured Bronze Medal in their respective categories. In Women Categories, Miss Pavitra Naik and Miss Ankita Govekar from FYBCOM secured Siver and Bronze Medal in their respective categories.

Total of 19 students consisting of 11 Boys and 08 Girls participated in the “Inter-collegiate Judo Competition” organized by Goa University on 03/08/2013. College ended up securing two medals. In Boys Section, a FYBCOM student Mr. Sanjit Naik Secured Gold medal in 100 kg and open Weight category and Miss Ruksana Sounoor, a TYBCOM student secured Bronze Medal in 78 kg and Open weight Category in Women Section.

  • Cross Country 9 Men team of the Vidya Prabodhini College also participated in the “Inter-College Mini Marathon Race organized by Fr. Agnel College, Pillar.
  • Department of Physical Education celebrated National Sports Day on 29th August 2012.   Milton Fernandes, Assistant Director of Sports, Goa University was the chief guest for the program. On this occasion, Inter Class Fitness competition was organized for Both Boys and Girls separately. In this competition fitness exercises like Push-Ups, Squats, Bent knee Sit-Ups, V-Hold were included. FYBCOM B Boys and SYBCOM Girls emerged as winners and SYBCOM Boys and SYBCOM A Girls emerged as Runners in the said competition. Also Interclass Tug of War was conducted wherein SYBCOM Girls and Boys team emerged as Champion in both the categories.
  • Two Students of our college namely Mast. Meghal Kauthankar and Miss Savita Shinde Represented Goa State at the 14th National Senior Rope Skipping Championship – 2013 held at Sawai Mansing Indoor Stadium Jaipur, Rajasthan organized by Rajasthan Rope Skipping Association. Miss Savita Shinde also bagged First place in D.D. Pairs Free Style
  • 12 Boys and 5 Girl Students also worked as Volunteers in International Sports event during the 3rd Lusofonia Games Goa - 2014 held in Goa from 23rd to 27th January 2014. College Physical Education Director Mr. Sunny Kanekar also worked as International Technical Official in Athletics during the same event.
